Do you have digital photos on multiple devices? Have you inherited or accumulated boxes of printed photos and memorabilia and just don’t know where to start? Imagine having a collection of photos and videos sorted, scanned, organized, and backed up in a way that you can easily access, share and enjoy. This is what we do. We provide full-service memory preservation both locally in Minnesota, and anywhere you live through our remote services.
Thank you for visiting Capture Your Photos. We are SO glad you’re here.
How we take and share photos is completely different today than it was only 10 years ago. We’ve gone from taking a photo to capture a moment, to using photos to communicate our lives. The result…people are completely overwhelmed with the number of photos they have, as well as the ever-changing technology. In addition, those old albums, printed photos, and boxes of memorabilia need some love. They’re getting crispy and faded and need to be preserved if we want to tell our family stories.
Our goal at Capture Your Photos is to help you breathe easier. We want to help you organize and preserve your memories in a way that future generations will love and embrace your stories.
Huge thank you to Holly Breitenbach Corbid and Capture Your Photos. I'm so excited to have everything all organized in a way that works for me! The entire experience was top notch. Holly was SO patient about everything. She worked around my busy schedule and took lots of time to explain things in a way that a non-techie can understand. I highly recommend her!
Thanks so much for doing a great job putting a book for my mom together! You are so talented, and I will continue to rave about the book and how great you have been to work with. YOU ROCK!
I'm teary every time I look at it! My mom alternated between calling it ‘priceless and’ saying it was worth 'thousands and thousands' of dollars. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, and I will always cherish it.
The Photo Organizing Blueprint is a fantastic course that I highly recommend. Holly has thought of everything and is terrific at explaining how to go through the process. I loved her step-by-step instructions – they were straight forward and easy to follow. Holly’s honest about the process and gives you heads-up about steps that might seem frustrating at first but she’s so encouraging you know you’ll be able to accomplish every step. You can tell she’s got loads of real-life experience in organizing photos and preserving memories – her tips and tricks are great additions to the process steps.
We are so thankful to Holly Corbid for completing Cameron’s ELC book. As he approaches his senior year, it is a great memory book sharing his whole trip. She also was so kind to add more pages just about Cameron & us. Our special parent letter to Cam, faith, friendships, photos, learning, fun = amazing memories.
The most valuable part of the process with Capture Your Photos was the personal touch combined with attention to detail. I knew my precious photos would be in good hands with capture my photos. When the project was complete, I was satisfied and relieved to have figured out how to save and share important family photos.
November is one of the best months of the year to engage with your photos. Once the holidays hit, it’s hard. Diving into your photos and memories in November is productive, gives you time to revisit and enjoy your memories, and best of all, gives you the opportunity to touch hearts this holiday season. Here are 6 ways you can prepare your photos and memories for the holidays.
Graduation is an opportunity for parents, the graduate, family members, and friends to connect through their memories. While I love a picture board, my goal with photo displays is to not only display the photos, but to tell a story with them. Here are 8 ways I told my daughter’s story at her graduation party.
Celebrations like graduation, a milestone birthday or anniversary, a retirement, a wedding, and a celebration of life are all occasions where we pull out old photos and memories to share and reminisce. I love a photo display, but I also love a keepsake, something tangible to have beyond the party, that can be enjoyed for years to come. One keepsake I like creating is a sign-in guest book customized with photos. Here are some tips for creating one.
I wish I could record the comments that people make when we talk photos. Friends will flat-out tell me their photo mess is the worst I’ve ever seen. Others tell me how much they or their mother need me. Photos can be powerful and amazing, but they can also be a source of stress and guilt when people are afraid of losing photos, are overwhelmed by how many they have, or are paralyzed because they don’t know where to start. Here are some actions for relieving the stress and creating a healthy photo mindset.
Everyone has duplicate photos in their collection. Whether you’ve saved photos sent to you multiple times or you’ve lost track of backups, duplicates are both a constant and a nuisance in the digital photo world. There are 2 ways to remove duplicates, manually or with technology, like software or an app. My vote…100%…is to use technology. Here are my favorite deduplication tools.
My mission in this world is to help people find ways to bring joy into their lives on a daily basis through their photos and memories. The simpler the strategy, the better. Enter…the widget. What is a photo widget? Simply put, it allows you to display photos on your smartphone screen. They are easy and free. Here’s how you add them to your phone.
Last year, Heather contacted me looking for help with her photos before a move. Fast forward several months when an unexpected event turned the task of organizing her photos into archiving her family’s memories.
In practical terms, here are some tips and things to consider if you want to ‘archive' your family memory collection.
We use our phones differently today than we did even 5 years ago. People of all ages are overwhelming their camera rolls with reminder photos, shopping screenshots, and various documents to help manage their lives. One solution to help control and organize this clutter is to create a virtual bulletin board in your camera roll.
If you’ve read or watched any type of news media recently you’ve no doubt seen AI (Artificial Intelligence) referenced in multiple contexts. In the photo world, AI is playing a more prominent role in helping us organize our photos. It can accomplish some amazing things and save us a ton of time, but the trust that we are putting into it also creates some challenges.
As a professional photo manager, I’m always on the lookout for new photo apps that will make my clients’ lives easier, as well as enhance their ability to enjoy and preserve their photos and memories. At the 2023 TPM Photo Manager’s conference, these 3 apps stood out. They aren’t perfect yet, but I’m excited about the possibilities.
Holly has helped me to find and organize 25 years of photos that were located in shoe boxes, bags, and deteriorating albums! Holly showed me how to get them all into an accessible format so that whole family could enjoy them! She has great methods and I can do it myself now! My whole family is having fun with my discoveries. Digitizing is the way to go for us since we are all over the country and albums are never in the right place. Thanks Holly!
